We will begin our practice with a cacao ceremony.
Cacao is a sacred plant found in Central and South America. It is high in iron, magnesium, antioxidants, and B-vitamins.
This heart opener has been to used for thousands of years in the Mayan culture of South America for medicinal, spiritual and ceremonial purposes. In Mayan tradition the word cacao is literally translated as “heart blood.” Cacao contains an ingredient called theobromine, which translates to “food of the Gods.” Theobromine is an alkaloid which has been shown to be mildly stimulating. It increases the flow of blood and oxygen to the brain. Cacao has been show to boost the immune system, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, and help with deeper spiritual connection.
If you have never experienced Cacao- don’t worry! It is not intoxicating or mind altering. You will not have an out-of-body experience or hallucinations. It is more comparable to caffeine and works gently on the mind, body, and heart to rebalance energies.
After our cocoa ceremony I will lead Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra or "yogic sleep" is a guided meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation.
